Weekly Notices - 5th July 2026

It’s time to turn your Prayer Themes Bookmarks over as we enter the month of July!   Does that mean we no longer pray for Alpha, or for new people to make our church their spiritual home?  No way!

The “how” and “why” of church life is something that every church reflects on from time to time.  What do we need to do to make our Sunday Services even more vibrant?  What do I need to do?  For we each play a significant part in church life and must answer the following questions carefully.  Do I need to enter church on Sunday in a more positive, faith-filled frame of mind?  Do I need to look for God’s special moment in each Service?  Do I need to pray for each part of my Service as it gets underway?  Is there one person I can invite to church this month, backed up by prayer to my Heavenly Father who loves them as much as he loves me?

We are so blessed at St Augs to belong to a truly loving, supportive church.  All around us in our many communities are people who would so deeply benefit from what God, through us, offers.  They just may be waiting for us to invite them!

Christine

From Anglican Missions: Tēnā koutou katoa

This week we are holding the people of Venezuela in our prayers and taking
action after two powerful earthquakes struck the north of the country on 24 June. In just moments, families lost homes, loved ones, places of work, and the ordinary sense of safety that sits beneath daily life.

Many are grieving. Many are injured. Many are still waiting for news of people they love.

The local Church in Venezuela is present among communities now facing shock, displacement and uncertainty.

Anglican Missions is launching an emergency appeal to raise funds for the response.  The immediate needs being identified are simple, urgent and
human: food, water, health support and shelter.

Please pray for the people of Venezuela.  Please consider giving to support the local Anglican response. (click here to donate online)
