THY KINGDOM COME CALL-TO-PRAYER

The Thy Kingdom Come  Prayer Movement began ten years ago through an initiative of the
Church of England.

This year Christians from more than 85 denominations will be taking part in more than 90% of countries worldwide.  This is your invitation to be a part of this God-blessed and exciting Prayer Movement between Ascension Day (Thursday 29 May) and Pentecost Sunday (8 June).   You won’t regret joining the thousands around the world praying for people to come to know Jesus and for lives to be transformed! Every parishioner will receive a Prayer Journal with a place to write the names of 5 people whom God is leading you to pray for, especially during the ten days between Ascension Day and Pentecost.  Along with this, the Journal contains ten daily readings to accompany you on this journey of focused prayer

ST AUGUSTINE’S THREE CALLS TO PRAYER

(to be held in the church)

                         SUNDAY 25 MAY 5-6PM

  • ·        This is a National Call-to-Prayer at the end of Youth Week for our “First Third”  - youth and children in New Zealand

  • ·        We will also pray for the First Third in our community,  for our own Parish needs for youth and children’s ministries (including a leader), and for our very own

children and grandchildren (and indeed for any children you care about!)

  • ·        In silence or aloud (the choice will be yours!) we will pray together

  • ·        This Prayer Session will be led by Jenny.  She has thoughtfully planned several great activities to take us through the hour.  Come and experience for yourself

the results of Jenny’s hard work!

  • ·        Soup and Rolls in Hannan Centre to follow

FRIDAY 6 JUNE 6.30-7PM (Just two days before Pentecost!)

  • ·        Preceded by Soup and Rolls in Hannan Centre at 6pm

  • ·        Prayer especially for “your five”

  • ·        In silence or aloud (the choice will be yours!), we will pray with you for family and friends on your list

  • ·        This Prayer Session will be led by Christine

SATURDAY 7 JUNE 3-4PM (The day before Pentecost!)

  • ·        This is a Diocesan initiative

  • ·        Our parish has been designated 3-4pm when we will be praying simultaneously with parishioners in the Diocese of Sheffield in England, in Kenya and

Argentina. (Hoping Ciru can join us by zoom, along with someone with Argentinian connections!)

  • ·        It is envisaged that this Prayer Time will be especially helpful for older parishioners who prefer a day-time gathering

  • ·        This Prayer Session will be led by Liz
