City Mission Food Bank
Just a reminder that there is the opportunity to bring food items (tinned or packaged) here to Church for the City Mission.
Please, next time you are at the Supermarket remember this and bring something along on Sundays to help fill our basket (near the entrance).
It is a small way we can help those less fortunate than ourselves.
Library News: There are new additions(!)
Magdalenia – Released from Shame (CD donated by Carly).
What’s so amazing about Grace – Teacher’s guideline & notebook (CD donated by Lois & Derek)
Please, when taking out a book sign it out on the register on the bottom shelf (and when returning place in the box on the bottom shelf) – THANK YOU!
Also, please help yourself to the puzzles that are available.
Paddy & T have a new email address.
Their ‘Hotmail’ email address is no longer reliable so they have moved to gmail as follows: cepharchrisp2@gmail.com
So if you are one of those that used to receive regular updates from them (and have noticed that they have stopped…), this is why.
If you want to again receive regular email updates from Paddy & T, they would be very grateful if you could first contact them using the new email address above. (This way they can build up their new email address book again).
What is prayer and how do I pray?
To pray is to make our hearts ready to experience the love of God in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Praying regularly will help us to develop a spiritual rhythm. A discipline of prayer changes the way that we think about our lives, because it creates new habits of heart and mind. Prayer opens us more deeply to the transforming grace of God. We enter into God’s presence, allowing the Holy Spirit to pray in us.

“Prayer is spiritual communication between man and God, a two-way relationship in which man should not only talk to God but also listen to Him. Prayer to God is like a child’s conversation with his father. It is natural for a child to ask his father for the things he needs.” https://billygraham.org.uk/answer/what-is-prayer/
The ACTS method of Christian prayer goes like this:
- Adoration:Give God praise and honour for who he is as Lord over all.
- Confession:Honestly deal with the sin in your life.
- Thanksgiving:Verbalize what you’re grateful for in your life and in the world around you.
- Supplication:Pray for the needs of others and yourself.
This, then, is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’

IRD Numbers!
IRD Numbers! Thank you SO MUCH to those of you who have elected to place your tax rebate(s) into the Church’s bank account!
(This choice can be made when you are completing your tax return(s) Simply enter the Church’s bank account number (see below) into the return instead of your own… This is a simple (and relatively painless!) way of increasing your giving to the Church…)
However; IF you have done this, AND you want this action treated by us as an additional donation to the Church; – then you need to supply us with your IRD number. As all IRD will release to us is your IRD number – NOT your name… (Some of you have already supplied your IRD number from previous years, if so check you can check with Paula in the office to see if she already has your number in her records.)
Again MANY MANY thanks to those of you who have already elected to do this!! (And just in case – here is our bank account number for any who still want to consider this option J : 06 0801 0052951 00)
